Thoughtlines: An Interactive Atlas of Philosophy

A read-only graph explorer for following philosophical ideas across people, works, and time.
Published

October 14, 2026

Thoughtlines is an interactive atlas for exploring how ideas are connected, interpreted, and carried through time. Its read-only public edition combines the InPhO source graph with researched, source-linked treatments and guided readings.

Follow a connection between thinkers, explore a collection around a question, or use a guided reading to trace an idea through its historical context. The atlas below offers a starting point; open the full view for more room to explore.

What to explore

  • Explore the graph and follow connections between thinkers, ideas, works, and treatments.
  • Overview provides ranked entry points into the source graph.
  • Collections gathers records and readings around research questions.
  • Stories pairs philosophical readings with interactive graph companions.
  • Documentation explains the project’s purpose, evidence model, and research process.

Thoughtlines is an early public alpha. Its coverage is incomplete, and a connection in the source graph is a starting point for inquiry rather than, by itself, evidence of historical influence.
